Futurist D.W. Jones is struck with an idea...

Genesis
The Internet of Hugs

Before the term "Internet of Things"(IoT) was even coined, D.W. Jones envisioned a future in which isolated humans, connected to the world beyond their window only by the Internet Service Provider. D.W. knew humans could achieve more...

D.W. sought a method to interface the human endocrine itself with the World Wide Web, enabling humans to share physical interaction phenomena via Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) as easily as they do via their localized carbon frames.

HugBorg: Mk 1

Thus were born the Human Hormone Transfer Protocol (HHTP), the concept of the Pneumatic Hugging Interface (PHI), distant relatives of HTTP and GUI technologies, and HugBorg itself, the first implementation of the system.

Location A:

A human connects with a Human-Computer Interface (HCI) via HHTP to the IoH

Location B:

A recipient connects a PHI apparatus via HHTP <-> HTTP and receives a hug accompanied by an auditory prompt

About HugBorg
Just the beginning

D.W. Jones sees a future in which entire platforms of human-machine and human-machine-human interactions are built upon these humble beginnings, just as its cousin "The Internet" grew out of simple protocols decades ago.
